Labor Day 2010

We visited the Grandparents this Labor Day weekend. We left for WL on Sunday morning. We went to Sacrament there and were able to see a few old friends. It is so fun to see everyone. We had a nice visit w/ Grandma and Grandpa Hurst and Shelly of course. Grandpa was excited to share all of his newly discovered "freezer meals" with us for lunch. We splurged and dined at Hour Time for dinner. This is where we ate after Cory proposed to me.
On Monday, we left for Cloverdale to see Grandpa Garrett and his family. He took us to Cataract Falls for a lovely afternoon. We walked across the covered bridge and on all the rocks "falls" that were dry from no rain. Then we grilled out at home while the boys rode bikes and played football w/ Jordan. The worst part about the entire trip was that we kenneled the dogs! We missed them so much. They would have loved roaming around the Falls...

Football 2010

Three football players and one coach equals heartier appetites and too much laundry. I am trying very hard this year to learn all the boys positions and what they are supposed to do on the field. They sure look cute all suited up. This should be an exciting season.

Claim Jumpers

We went to the Temple w/ the Jacobsons last weekend. We really weren't rushed to get home. so I really wanted to eat at this place Rosalyn took me to a few years ago. I couldn't remember the name of the place. I kept calling it Gang Bangers, Rail Riders etc, etc. After failing to find those listed on Yelp, we got a hold of Rosalyn and found it it was Claim Jumpers! We had a great dinner and even better dessert. They had a 6 layer chocolate cake and an eclair that was the size of a football. Jana And I insisted the guys share w/ us...

Gregory had a Water Wars party for his 9th birthday. We had a slip and slide in the front yard that Cory extended with black tarps. They then played games w/ shaving cream, timed water bombs and races. They ended with a "war" of water balloons. Greg chose to have 2 ice cream cakes to celebrate-oreo cookie and peanut butter cup. I can't believe my baby is 9!

Nativity Night

The third annual Creche Display evening went well. This is the first year the Stake has taken the reigns, and the amount of displays increased by 100 to a whopping 229 (I know, not as many as most stakes, but we are still trying to show the stake how effective this can be). The room looked lovely, with lighted dogwoods and evergreens. Plenty of unique displays from many countries, and one made out of balloons (above)! Overall we had good turn out, and some great music. Next year we hope to set up 500. Wish us luck!
